I recently finished it and wow!! You weren't kidding when you mentioned it was dark and violent! I honestly found some parts difficult to read because it was so brutal! I wouldn't say I liked this book, however, I'm glad I can say I read it and understand more the references that are made to this story. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this book! :)
I have not read Wuthering Heights! I am working on my goal of reading older novels though and retraining my attention span to read more complex works! I will add this one to my list! <3
I love that goal! I've been trying to "live slower" in a lot of areas of my life these days, and changing my reading habits has been part of that. I love a good light, easy read, but I started finding that I was more focused on how many books I could read in a year rather than focusing on good quality reads. For this season, I have really wanted to read books that challenge me and make me slow down. I'll be excited to see what you think about this one!
